Advanced SSD Upgrade Solution Looking to add fast internal storage to your computer? Got a spare card slot in your Thunderbolt 2 to PCIe expansion chassis and need high performance storage expansion? If maximum speed is critical to your work, hard disk drives are not what you’re looking for—you need an SSD-based upgrade. Today’s SSDs offer tremendous performance and easily outperform (and are more reliable than) traditional hard disk drives. Sonnet’s latest PCIe SSD solution, the Tempo PCIe SSD, is our fastest, smallest SSD-on-a–card ever, and it can transform the way you work. With the Tempo PCIe SSD card installed in your Mac Pro® tower or Thunderbolt™-to-PCIe card expansion system, you can easily install OS X® on the SSD and create an incredibly fast boot drive. In a Windows® PC or Mac®-based system, you can use it for instant access media storage or as a high-performance scratch disk. However it is used, this card’s performance will impress you. |
Key Features Adds One Super-Fast SSD to Your System—Mounts one high-performance 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD in your Mac Pro tower’s, desktop PC’s, or Thunderbolt expansion system’s PCIe slot Boot Support—Supports booting under OS X Superior Performance—Data transfers speeds up to 1100 MB/sec read and write(1) Low-Profile Form Factor—Card fits in any computer with an x4 or larger PCIe slot, regardless the space (Full-height and low-profile PCIe brackets included) Optimized for Maximum Performance Over AHCI Compliant—No drivers required S.M.A.R.T. Support—Supports S.M.A.R.T. data reporting |
It's About the Performance Tempo PCIe SSD is a low-profile PCIe card with an attached M.2 PCIe SSD providing 512GB of storage. Its small form factor allows this card to be installed into any x4 mechanical or larger PCIe slot; full-height and low-profile card brackets are included. Capable of transferring files at a blistering 1100 MB/sec, this Sonnet SSD solution boasts performance once exclusive to multi-drive storage systems with eight or more hard drives plus a high-end RAID controller card! This Sonnet SSD solution is able to attain this performance and break speed records set by 6Gb/s SATA SSDs by incorporating a direct PCIe flash controller. This enables the card to achieve greater performance from a single “drive” than cards using two 2.5" form factor SSDs along with a SATA controller and SATA-to-PCIe bridge. |

Thunderbolt Port? Add an Instant SSD Solution Got a Thunderbolt connection, but no PCIe slot? Tempo PCIe SSD is ideal for use in Sonnet’s Echo Express Thunderbolt 2-to-PCI Express® card expansion systems, the xMac Pro Server PCIe 2.0 expansion system/4U rackmount enclosure for new Mac Pro with Thunderbolt 2 ports, and the xMac™ mini Server PCIe 2.0 expansion system/1U rackmount enclosure for Mac mini with Thunderbolt ports. Adding this card to any of these Thunderbolt expansion systems is a great way to add an ultra-fast SSD to your Mac with Thunderbolt ports without having to daisy-chain another storage device. |
Simple and S.M.A.R.T. Integrating Tempo PCIe SSD into your system is extremely easy—just plug it in to any available PCIe slot and then start your computer—AHCI compliance ensures the necessary drivers are installed automatically. Compatible with OS X 10.8.5+ (including Yosemite); Windows 8 and 7; and Windows Server 2012 and 2008; the Tempo PCIe SSD is simple to set up for use using OS X or Windows drive formatting utilities. Drive health monitoring is supported through S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) data reporting, too. |
